Few of my unpublished english poems inspired from Biochemistry

Sharing a few of my unpublished English poems (that I must have penned more than 12 years ago) that are inspired by the field of science (biochemistry in particular). As a matter of fact, I have written quite a bunch of them that have been inspired by science/ biology/chemistry and earlier I thought that I could self-publish them as a poetry chapbook, but that is uncertain, in any case, I have decided to post a few of them here.

Those belonging to the background of biochemistry/ cell biology might understand the comparisons I made in some of them :)

Here they are:

1.

Cell Death

Each moment,

every second of the time,

the cells in this body are

degrading,

aging,

dying,

you see

each cell is a partner

in the conspiracy, of that of

ultimately,

liberating the soul.

 2.

The Coculture

Me and you

are two cells,

longing to be together.

A grand plan

of the universe.

We crave for

Coculture-

like the two cell types

long to meet, and

establish

cell junctions,

communications,

love intentions.

We too, are waiting,

to be brought together.

-Shilpi

3.

My Extracellular Matrix

you are my extracellular matrix

which adheres and supports me

and carries me through

and my cell body

moves along

courageously

sends forth

 my projections

to fly

and the nucleus of my soul

keeps me centered.

-Shilpi
