Sharing two songs (parts of series), that are based on the poetry of the Sufi poet and mystic Mian Muhammad Bakhsh. The English translation of the song appears in the video. The sweet voice to the song is of Ahmad Hussain, a prominent singer who sings Nasheeds...The music, words, and the video of the song are way too divine and invoke peace...
here are they:

Sharing a couple of beautiful shayaris from the internet:
1. This one was so simple yet profound, I had to post it, the name of poet is not available, however, it can be heard at: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DGdh2UuvlU5/?igsh=MWRpZmUyMjQzNGM1Mw%3D%3D
this is the shayari:
“Masla yeh hai ki is dil ka aakhir kya kiya jaaye?
Usse baat karni hai ya nahi, kisi se mashwara liya jaaaye
Fir dil bhi gawara nahi karta, ki mehfil me uska zikr kiya
jaaye
Aakhir Mohabbat hai vo hamari, use badnaam na kiya jaaye
Par ab uski qaid me nahi rehna, khud ko azaad kiya jaaye
Uske diye huye tohfe aur khat sab ab jala diye jaaye..
Yahan tak to theek tha, abhi ek masla aur bhi hai..
Sab yaadein to fana kar di,
Par is chaand ka kya kiya jaaye….”
“लोग
टूट जाते हैं एक
घर बनाने में
तुम तरस नहीं खाते
बस्तियाँ जलाने में…”
हर धड़कते पत्थर को लोग दिल
समझते हैं
उम्रें बीत जाती हैं
दिल को दिल बनाने
में..”

In the aftermath of the terrible crash that occurred on June 12 in Ahmedabad of the Air India AI171 ill-fated aircraft, it is not possible to truly pen down anything remotely connected to the sadness and loss it has caused. I would think that every sensitive soul would feel the ripples of the immense pain it has caused, irrespective of who was related to anybody traveling in it. Truly, this is the year when the planet Earth is showing the face of tragedy, karmic balance, so-to-say. The lives of those who were lost, in particular, the family of five, including two adorable twin boys, and then a female lover who had an argument with her lover (who was not on the plane) but was on that flight, are deeply tragic. To be frank, loss in plane crashes is deeply painful, and I in particular find it deeply saddening and hurtful (for some reasons known only to me).
In any case, I happened to hear a newly released song, Jeena Yahan | Hai Junoon! | Neil Nitin Mukesh, Anusha Mani, Shaan, Rajdeep Ghosh, Ankit K. Sharma and for some reason, could not stop feeling the connection, as if that song seemed to be the voice of the souls who departed, reflecting the reality of life on earth..The lyrics of the song (in particular sung by the female singer) are so painfully beautiful...
"Woh kis jahan se pukare humein
Kiye the wo laakhon ishaarein humein
Baaton ko baatein tarasti rahi
Patthar pe aankhein barasti rahi
Kal khel mein hum hon na hon
Gardish mein taare rahenge sada
Hai waqt ki fitrat yahi
Chalta rahega hamare bina
Kal raat bhi woh soyi nahi
Sitaaron ki baahon mein khoyi rahi
Un raahon mein jaane kya pa liya?
Kitna tha viraan hamara jahaan?
Adhuri rahi ye haseen daastaan
Karein bhi to kaise karein alvida
Jeena yahan marna yahan
Iske sivah jaana kahan
Jee chaahe jab humko awaaz do
Hum hain wahin, hum the jahan

Sharing two songs, (both from the 90s pop music era).. What I found so strikingly beautiful about these two songs are the common themes.
1. The first song :MERE MEHBOOB-RAAGESHWARI sung by Raageshwari (who also acted in it), is such a beautiful poetry and music, (especially the violin tune at 0.53 is the heart of the song)
2. The second song: Teri Yaad Jab Aati Hai Full Video Song Kabhi Aisa Lagta Hai | Lucky Ali by Lucky Ali, is a lesser-known song, yet so deeply beautiful...especially the tune at the start which is also the heart of this song in particular. I remember, I used to even have that tune as my ringtone long time ago...
I blogged about both songs together because both have a male lover in uniform, thus connected to the military. While the female lover in both cases ends up losing them in different ways, yet the pathos of loss is so similar.
In the first song, the man dies while fighting in the war, and in the second song, the man goes missing in the war for several years, leading the lover to give up on him and move forward with her life, only to find him miraculously come back, but only too late, as she had already married by then with a child.
In both instances, love preceded the agony of loss. But in the first case, it appears that the lover is so deeply in love that she reminisces about her days and love and perhaps would be endlessly devoted to him. In the second case, however, we do see that the lover perhaps gives up and chooses to let go, a choice made and regretted later, as is obvious in the video. Sometimes, I wonder how difficult the path of patience is, to continue to believe in one love and keep that alive in the heart like a shrine. After all, it's just a song, but it does reflect the vagaries of life...
Jo
lafz kahoon wo ho jaaye
Main
"Dil" likhoon, tu dil thaame
Main
"Gum" likhoon, wo kho jaaye
Abhi
"Ain" likhoon, tu soche mujhe
Phir
"Shiin" likhoon, teri neend ude
Jab
"Qaaf" likhoon, tujhe kuch-kuch ho
Main "Ishq" likhoon, tujhe ho
jaaye"
------------------------------------------------------
Jab
se bane hum aur tum yun humsafar
Hone laga saason mein gehra asar
Tere bina suna safar
Aa jao na Aa jao
Ishq hai Beqarar Karta intezar
Ishq hai intezar Karta beqarar
Aa jao na ao meri jaan
Baagon ke phool kaliyon ki khusboo
Dheere dheere karne lagi Beqabu
Hai
har taraf tu hi tu
Aaa jao na Aa jao"
Betaab
beqaraar mila tha
Bewajah
behijab mila tha
Bekhabar
behosh lamhe
Faisla
dene lage
Gum
huye
Jo
raaste
Mera
pata dene lage
Ishq
ki chingariyon ko
Phir
hawa dene lage
Ek
main tha aur thi tanhai
Kaat
kaat ke bhi kat nahi paayi
Le
gayi behti gehraai
Dard
ke tinke bhanwar mein
Aasra
dene lage
Gum
huye
Jo
raaste
Mera
pata dene lage
Ishq
ki chingariyon ko
Phir
hawa dene lage..."
The lyricist/poet in this song reminisces of the path of love, a path which calls to him, with its ups and downs, hidden and revealed phases, sparks and darkness...moments of deep pain of loneliness but where hope remained. The lines "dard ke tinke bhanwar mein asraa dene lage" which translates to "twig of pain in the storm provided support" is deeply sublime....
The sequence I chose to write about these songs is because the first song is almost like a manifestation or spell of love through thoughts, and words. The second song talks of the restlessness (bekaraari) of the lover and his waiting and hope for reunion of the beloved. And finally the third song, is like a dream sequence where the lover is lost in a dream where he is being called to continue on the path of love, despite being alone, and faced with pain and turmoil, perhaps, as Shakespeare said "the course of true love never did run smooth", and so even through hopelessness and stormy skies, the hope for beloved is still burning bright...
